On April 28, 2025 at about 5:50 pm, South San Francisco Police Officers responded to the 300 block of Arroyo Drive on the report of a disturbance where one person was armed with a gun. Shortly after officers arrived, the suspect began firing a weapon at them and into an occupied residence multiple times. Officers fired their weapons at the suspect, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The suspect was described as a white male who was approximately 60 years old, and was in possession of both a handgun and a shotgun. No officers were injured during this critical incident.

Officers are actively investigating this case and the public should expect a large police presence for the next several hours.
