105.5.47 Repair Garages and Motor Fuel-Dispensing Facilities

Specific Responsibilities for Repair Garages/Fueling:

• Control Ignition Sources: You must strictly control all ignition sources. This includes enforcing "No Smoking" rules, controlling hot work, and using only approved electrical equipment.
• Waste Handling: All oily rags and combustible waste must be stored in listed, self-closing metal cans and emptied daily.
• Spill Control: Maintain an adequate supply of approved absorbent materials. Clean up all spills of flammable or combustible liquids immediately.
• Fire Extinguishers: Ensure all required portable fire extinguishers are in their designated locations, are clearly visible, and have a current annual service tag.
• Ventilation: In repair garages, the mechanical ventilation system must be maintained to effectively remove flammable vapors.
