105.5.48 Rooftop Heliports

Specific Responsibilities for Rooftop Heliports:

• Fire Protection Systems: You must maintain the heliport’s specialized fire protection systems, which may include foam systems and standpipes, in a fully operational state.
• Maintain Markings: All markings for the touchdown pad, safety net, and egress paths must be maintained and clearly visible.
• Fueling Safety: If fueling operations are approved, you must strictly adhere to all safety procedures, including grounding, bonding, and having a trained attendant present.
• Egress Paths: Keep all rooftop egress paths from the heliport to the building’s exits clear and unobstructed.
• Personnel Training: All personnel assigned to heliport operations must be trained in its fire safety and emergency plan.
