105.5.57 Temporary Heating for Construction Sites

Specific Responsibilities for Temporary Construction Heating:

• Approved Equipment: You must only use heating equipment that is listed and labeled for construction site use.
• Maintain Clearances: Maintain the required clearance to all combustible construction materials, tarps, and coverings as specified by the equipment manufacturer.
• Fuel Storage: LP-Gas cylinders and flammable/combustible liquid fuel tanks must be stored outside the building in an approved, secure location.
• Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation is provided to prevent the buildup of carbon monoxide or other harmful gases.
• Daily Inspection: As part of the site safety inspection, verify that all heaters are in good working order and that all safety requirements are being met.
