105.5.4 Aviation Facilities

Specific Responsibilities for Amusement Buildings:

  • Maintain Egress Paths: You must ensure that all exit paths and aisles are continuously maintained to their required width and are free of any obstruction. The path of egress must be clearly identified.
  • Smoke Detection and Alarm Systems: The building’s automatic smoke detection system and emergency voice/alarm communication system must be maintained in a fully operational state.
  • Emergency Lighting: Regularly test and maintain all emergency and exit lighting to ensure they function properly upon loss of primary power.
  • Interior Finish: Do not alter the interior finish or decorative materials without ensuring they meet the stringent flame spread and smoke development requirements for amusement buildings.
  • Staff Training: In addition to general fire safety, staff must be trained on their specific roles during an emergency, including communication procedures and assisting guests with evacuation.
