Youth in Government

What is Youth in Government? 

Youth in Government is an annual program that is intended for high school juniors and seniors who live in South San Francisco. Students will learn how the City operates directly from those who oversee the day-to-day operations. YIG is a 4-week program where selected participants will: 

• Be paired with department directors/managers 
• Tour City facilities 
• Meet and hear from SSF City Councilmembers 

Benefits:

• Learn how local municipal government operates directly from City officials and department leaders  
• Meet and network with City officials and department leaders
• Tour City facilities
