Welcome to the official Concert in the Park website! The City of South San Francisco's Parks and Recreation Department would like you to save the date to our annual free Concert in the Park on Saturday, September 12, at the Orange Memorial Park Picnic Meadow. We will be offering a day filled with music, food, and fun for the entire family.

This year’s Concert in the Park promises to be a memorable experience, featuring a dynamic performance stage, an array of activities for kids, and the return of popular vendor booths. Attendees can look forward to a wide selection of food trucks offering delicious local treats, as well as beer and wine sales to enhance the festive atmosphere.

Attendee Guidelines

Concert in the Park is a free, family-oriented community event that includes activities for all ages to enjoy. These guidelines are intended to protect attendees from any activities or behaviors which may detract from the enjoyment of the event by others.

Bring:

  • Yourself, family, and friends!
  • Low back chairs and picnic blankets.
  • Valid ID to get your alcohol wristband if you plan to purchase beer and wine.
  • Cash – some vendors may not accept debit/credit card purchases. Beer and wine sales are cash only.
  • Cameras to snap, tag, and share your experience.
  • Good vibes!

Leave at home:

  • Umbrellas (beach and handheld) will not be allowed in the audience viewing area.
  • Germs – if you are feeling sick or exhibiting flu-like symptoms, please stay home.
  • Pets, except ADA service animals. ADA service animals are specifically trained to aid a person with a disability. Emotional support and family pets are not permitted.
  • Drugs or drug paraphernalia, marijuana, or marijuana products.
  • Weapons, pepper spray/mace, flares, or fireworks.
  • Barbecues.
  • Drones or remote-controlled toys.
  • Disruptive behavior. Included but not limited to:
    • No sitting, standing, loitering in designated fire lanes or pedestrian walkways.
    • No taunting, abusive, or insulting language.
    • No obscene or offensive gestures, imagery, or symbolism.

Fun Zone:

  •  Children who wish to participate in any activity in the Fun Zone will need to have a parent/guardian sign a waiver for them to receive a wrist band.
  • Food is not allowed in the Fun Zone area, only water.
  •  Dogs or other animals are not allowed in the Fun Zone area, except for ADA service animals. 

 

South San Francisco Municipal Code – Public Parks

All relevant provisions of the South San Francisco Municipal Code (SSFMC) which regulate activities and behaviors within public parks shall apply to the confines of the Concert in the Park event.  The following are a highlight of the most common regulations that are not permitted:

  1. Dogs or other animals, on or off leash, except for service animals (SSFMC § 10.36.095);
  2. Smoking of tobacco or any other plant or product, including the use of electronic smoking devices, a pipe, cigar, hookah, or cigarette of any kind (SSFMC § 8.50.030(b)(1); 8.50.090(c)(4));
  3. Amplified music other than the main stage performance (SSFMC § 10.36.160);
  4. Riding of bicycles or operation of motorized vehicles within the park (SSFMC § 10.36.040). Mobility devises for disabled users are exempt;
  5. Disorderly behavior, including but not limited to threatening behavior or conduct that tends to breach the public peace (SSFMC § 10.36.150).

Individuals who are in violation of these guidelines and interfere with the enjoyment of the event may be directed by Event Staff or the SSF Police Department to correct the violation. In the case of a serious or dangerous situation, or for failure to comply with a request to correct a violation, individuals may be ejected from the event and/or referred to the SSFPD for enforcement.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Do I need tickets for the Concert or activities?

South San Francisco Concert in the Park is a free community event.  No tickets are needed.  However, there will be food and drink sales at this event. Beer and wine sales are cash only and require a valid ID. Some activities in the children area require a wavier to be signed by a parent/guardian in order to receive a free wristband to participate.

 

When does the park open?

Orange Memorial Park opens at sunrise and closes at sunset.  Concert festivities will begin at 11:30 a.m.  Feel free to come early and enjoy Orange Memorial Park.

 

Is there reserved seating for this event?

There is no reserved seating for this event.  All seating is on a first come first serve basis.  All attendees should plan to bring their own chairs and blankets for sitting on the lawn.  Please be mindful of your neighbors and their line of vision when setting up higher back chairs.

 

Is alcohol allowed at the Concert?

Beer and Wine sales will be hosted by the Friends of Parks and Recreation. Cash or check only.   Alcohol must remain within the event footprint at Orange Memorial Park.

 

Can I smoke at the Concert in the Park event?

Smoking of any kind is prohibited anywhere in the park as identified in chapter 8.5 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code.

 

Are pets allowed at the event?

ADA service animals that are specifically trained to aid a person with a disability are always welcomed.  Emotional support and family pets are not permitted.  We kindly ask that all other pets stay at home as there will be large crowds and amplified noise.

 

Can my community group have a resource table at Concert in the Park?

The 2025 Concert in the Park will include a Vendor Area.  This year, the vendor area will showcase more booths that sell quality merchandise, art and handcrafted items.  Other businesses and community groups can also apply but space will be limited with priority going to governmental agencies, non-profit community resource providers and local handcrafted merchandise vendors. All vendor applications are subject to an approval process. Where do I collect lost and found items?

Please check the Parks and Recreation information booth located in the Vendor Area. All lost and found items not claimed the day of the event can be collected at the Recreation office at 901 Civic Campus Way, 3rd Floor for up to 2 weeks following the Concert in the Park.

 

How can my organization donate to Concert in the Park?

Concert in the Park is the City’s largest event of the year, welcoming over 3,000 visitors to enjoy a day of community, music, and fun to Orange Memorial Park.  Donations from sponsors help make this free community event a success. See our Sponsorship section for more information.

Food Vendor Inquiry

The South San Francisco Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting inquiries for food vendors for the 2026 Concert in the Park.

How do food vendors apply for a Vendor Booth?

To participate as a food vendor, please submit an email of interest to Kasey Jo Kelley at kaseyjo.kelly@ssfca.gov.  

Vendors will be notified of their status by Friday, July 31, 2026. 

If selected, vendors must be able to submit all the items listed below. 

  • Workers Comp Insurance

  • County of San Mateo Health Certificate

Invitation for Vendor and Exhibitor Applications

The South San Francisco Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting applications for vendors and exhibitors for the 2026 Concert in the Park. The following essential information is provided to ensure a safe and well-organized event for everyone.  All guidelines must be followed. Please contact Han-Ching Wong, Exhibitor Coordinator, in advance to clarify any questions you may have at hanching.wong@ssfca.gov or (650) 877-8914.  

Food Vendors

Please refer to the Food Vendor Inquiry section above for application details and inquiry instructions. 

What do Vendors receive? 

  • Vendors will receive a 10’x10’ high peak festival tent, one 6’ table, and two chairs.
  • Vendor name will be published in the event program.

How Do Organizations and Vendors Apply for a Vendor Booth?

  • Complete the Concert in the Park Vendor Application through Eventeny, our new vendor application platform, by Wednesday, July 22, at 11:59 p.m. Your application does not guarantee your participation in the event.
  • To submit a vendor application, you must have an Eventeny account. If you do not already have an account, you can create a free account before completing your application.
  • A valid credit card must be on file to submit your application. Visit here to learn how to add a payment method to your account.
  • Applicants will receive confirmation of their participation status by Friday, July 31, 2026.
    • Once accepted, applicants must pay a $50 participation fee by Friday, August 7, 2026. The fee is required of all vendors and organizations, including nonprofits.
    • Failure to submit payment by the deadline may result in the forfeiture of our participation in the event.
  • If selected, Vendors must attend a mandatory event orientation meeting on either Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. or  Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.. Accepted Vendors will receive the Zoom link and additional event information prior to the meeting. Vendors who do not attend a required orientation session may forfeit their participation in the event.

Terms & Conditions

  • I acknowledge that I, or an authorized representative of my organization, am required to pay the mandatory $50 application fee, plus any applicable transaction or credit card processing fees, by the designated payment deadline on Friday, August 7, 2026. This fee applies to all vendors and is subject to any applicable transaction or credit card processing fees. Failure to submit payment by the deadline will result in the loss of eligibility to participate in the event.
  • I acknowledge that I, or an authorized representative of my organization, am required to attend a mandatory event orientation meeting on either Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. or  Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.. Failure to attend the required orientation meeting will result in the loss of eligibility to participate in the event.
  • I acknowledge that the concert concludes at 5:00 p.m. and that I, or an authorized representative of my organization, am required to remain onsite until the end of the event. Failure to remain through the conclusion of the concert may result in the loss of eligibility to participate in future Concert in the Park events.

Elections / Public Forum Booth

Candidates canvassing South San Francisco for the upcoming November Election or individuals/groups representing politicallyoriented activities are welcome to occupy the Elections/Public Forum Booth in the Exhibitor Area between 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

This booth is being provided to allow candidates or individuals/groups representing politically oriented activities to distribute election materials and to speak to residents.

Please note the following policies for individuals/groups wishing to use the Elections/Public Forum Booth:

  • The Elections/Public Forum Booth is a shared booth and may not be reserved for sole use by a single organization or individual.
  • The booth is housed under a 10’ x 10’ high peak festival tent and will include two 6’ tables and four chairs.
  • Given the limited space in the booth, the candidate or cause should only have one representative at a time.
  • Display materials shall be limited to a poster, which may be put up inside the booth only, and a supply of handouts for canvassing.
  • Campaign workers may walk around the event area to distribute campaign items but may not accost fair goers with aggressive distribution of materials and sales-type interactions that block people’s movements or that physically disrupts the public’s enjoyment of the event.
