105.5.46 Refrigeration Equipment

Specific Responsibilities for Refrigeration Equipment:

• Periodic Testing: You are responsible for ensuring that the refrigeration system, including all safety devices, is periodically tested in accordance with the code and manufacturer's instructions.
• Maintain Signage: Ensure that the required signs are maintained on the door to the refrigeration machinery room and that all piping and controls are properly labeled.
• Emergency Controls: The emergency discharge system and any remote controls must be maintained in good working order.
• Refrigerant Detection: If a refrigerant detection and alarm system is installed, it must be maintained, calibrated, and tested regularly.
• Operator Knowledge: A designated person responsible for the system must be trained in its operation and emergency procedures.
