Specific Responsibilities for Tents:

  • Maintain Egress: All required exits and aisles must be kept clear and unobstructed at all times. Exit signs must be illuminated and visible when the tent is occupied.
  • Flame Resistance: The tent fabric must be certified as flame-resistant per NFPA 701. Do not place any combustible materials or decorations inside the tent unless they are also certified as flame-resistant.
  • Control Ignition Sources: "No Smoking" signs must be posted. All heating and electrical equipment must be approved for use in tents and kept away from combustible materials and sidewalls. No open flames are permitted without a separate permit.
  • Fire Extinguishers: Portable fire extinguishers must be provided, accessible, and properly mounted as required by the permit.
  • Structural Stability: You are responsible for monitoring the stability of the tent. It must remain properly anchored and secure at all times, especially during windy conditions.
