Specific Responsibilities for Production Facility Assembly Use:

  • Adhere to Temporary Use: This permit is granted for a specific event and a limited duration. You are responsible for ensuring the space reverts to its normal production use upon the expiration of the permit.
  • Post Occupant Load: The approved temporary maximum occupant load sign must be posted in a visible location. You are responsible for ensuring this number is never exceeded.
  • Maintain Egress: All designated exits for the assembly use must be unlocked, unblocked, and clearly identified with proper exit signs. All aisles and paths to exits must be kept clear of any obstruction, including production equipment, cables, and furniture.
  • Flame-Retardant Materials: You must ensure that all decorative materials, props, scenery, and temporary furnishings are flame-retardant treated. Certificates must be available on-site for inspection.
  • Provide Fire Watch: If a fire watch is required as a condition of your permit, you must provide trained personnel whose sole duty is to watch for fire. A detailed log of their patrols must be maintained and available for review.
  • Control Ignition Sources: You must prohibit smoking and control all other potential ignition sources within the assembly area.
