About Us
The Gene Mullin Community Learning Center’s educational programs strengthen families and build community, supporting South San Francisco residents as they learn, grow, and thrive together.
Our Mission
We believe that each child, youth and adult has unique strengths, talents and skills. Incorporating these gifts, we build a community where people learn and teach each other in order to experience personal and professional success. We are committed to building an environment that fosters:

Free Adult Workshop Schedule
Community Programs for Adults
Starting September 2nd
Online Certification Course Support
Use our computers independently to complete online certifications, including:
- Food Handler's Certification
- ISSA Certification
- OSHA Training
- First Aid, CPR & AED Online Courses
Open Computer Lab
A quiet place to access computers for independent use. You are welcome to:
- Browse the internet
- Access websites and online resources
- Print documents
Printing: First 20 pages are free. Additional pages are $0.25 per page.
1:1 Tutoring
Offering support for beginner English learners in areas such as:
- Technology support
- Practicing basic English
- Resume assistance
- Navigating websites and apps
- Finding community resources
Practical Writing for Everyday Life
Build writing skills for everyday life, school, and work. Practice:
- Grammar and punctuation
- Sentence and paragraph writing
- Email and letter writing
- Other everyday documents
Program Schedule
All workshops offered:
- Wednesday & Thursday: 6:30 PM to 8:15 PM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Registration: Register in person during program hours.
Eligibility: Must be 18 years or older.

Are children welcome?
Yes. Free activities are available for children ages 4-12 while adults attend workshops.
Youth Program
Our school-year program welcomes Spruce Elementary students in grades 1–5, offering homework help and fun, hands-on enrichment activities that encourage learning, curiosity, and confidence.
How to Register:
Visit us between 3:00–5:00 PM during school days to register in person, or contact us for more information or to make an appointment.

Homework Assistance Adult Tutor
Tutor elementary students in English and/or math for our afterschool program.
Afterschool Teen Volunteer
Assist Homework Club Program staff for elementary students in our afterschool program.
English as a New Language Tutor
Help adult learners with English as a new language.
