The Trivia Challenge: 

A Night of Fun, Facts & Fundraising

Hosted by Project Read of North San Mateo County, the annual Trivia Challenge is one of South San Francisco’s most anticipated community events. Celebrating its 33rd anniversary on November 6, 2026, this lively fundraiser will bring together over 300 attendees at the South San Francisco Conference Center for an unforgettable evening of competition, camaraderie, and celebration.

Teams compete across a variety of trivia categories while enjoying dinner, networking, and supporting adult literacy programs in our community. No trivia expertise required. Just bring your enthusiasm, teamwork, and a little friendly competitive spirit!

The Trivia Challenge

What’s the Trivia Challenge?

Teams of three battle it out for the coveted title of “Trivia Champions of Northern San Mateo County.” Winners are immortalized on the perpetual trophy and return the following year to defend their title. But it’s not just about brains—teams also compete for Best Team Costume, showing off their creativity with wigs, hats, t-shirts, and anything that screams fun.

What to Expect

  • Silent Auction Preview: Browse exciting items before the competition begins.
  • Full Bar & Buffet Dinner: Enjoy delicious food and drinks with friends and colleagues.
  • Trivia Showdown: Cheer on your favorite team as the battle of wits unfolds.

Support Project Read by donating to our Silent Auction—an exciting part of the Trivia Challenge evening that helps raise vital funds for literacy programs in North San Mateo County.

We welcome a variety of contributions, including:

This lively fundraiser brings together over 300 attendees and 25 spirited teams to celebrate learning, laughter, and local impact—all in support of adult and family literacy programs.

Why Sponsor?

By becoming a sponsor, you’ll help fund essential literacy services while gaining meaningful visibility in the community. All sponsors receive recognition in promotional materials and event signage, with additional benefits based on sponsorship level.

Sponsorship Levels

Platinum Sponsor – $10,000 Receive overall recognition on the website and all event materials, including your company name and logo featured in all publicity, printed materials, and the event slideshow. You’ll be acknowledged during the program, listed in the event program with logo and website link, and invited to field up to three Trivia Challenge teams. Includes 30 event tickets (9 team members + 21 guests).

Gold Sponsor – $5,000 Enjoy prominent recognition in all publicity, printed materials, and slideshow, plus acknowledgement during the event program. Your company will be listed in the event program with logo and website link. Includes up to two team entries and 20 event tickets (6 team members + 14 guests).

Silver Sponsor – $2,500 Your company name and logo will be featured in event publicity, printed materials, and slideshow, with recognition in the event program and a website link. Includes one team entry and 10 event tickets (3 team members + 7 guests).

Scorekeeper/Volunteer Sponsor – $1,750 Your company name and logo will appear on Scorekeeper and Volunteer badges, as well as in event publicity, printed materials, and slideshow. Includes recognition in the event program and a website link. You may field one team or receive seven event tickets.

High School/College Team Sponsor – $1,250 Support a local high school or college team (3 students + 2 chaperones). Your company name will be featured in event publicity, printed materials, and slideshow, with recognition in the event program and a website link.

Contributing Sponsor – $500 Your company name will be featured in event publicity, printed materials, and slideshow, with recognition in the event program and a website link. Includes two tickets to the Trivia Challenge.
