This past Wednesday, the South San Francisco Police Department tried something new: teaming up with local business Milk Tea Lab for Boba & Badges, a relaxed, after-school opportunity for officers and community members to connect.
The event had a great turnout, with more than 250 community members connecting with our officers. It was a great opportunity to connect with some of our younger community members outside of their usual day-to-day interactions. For a few hours, officers and students played games, chatted over boba, handed out stickers, and simply spent time getting to know one another.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by and spent the afternoon with us, and a special thank you to Milk Tea Lab owner, Joanne Wan and her team for welcoming us, and providing such a great space to bring the community together.
We loved trying something new in South City, and appreciate everyone who helped make our first Boba & Badges a sweet success! We look forward to exploring similar community partnerships in other parts of South City in the future.
