On Monday, Mayor Mark Addiego and Councilmembers Flor Nicolas and Eddie Flores joined the family of Juliana Peña to illuminate the tree on Sign Hill in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
The annual tradition honors the memory of Juliana, a brave two-and-a-half-year-old South San Francisco resident who lost her courageous battle with neuroblastoma in 2012. The light also honors all children and families affected by childhood cancer.
Through this meaningful tribute, South San Francisco stands together in remembrance, support and hope, reminding families that they are not alone.
