105.5.50 Storage of Scrap Tires and Tire Byproducts

Specific Responsibilities for Tire Storage:

• Maintain Pile Sizes and Separation: You are responsible for ensuring that tire piles do not exceed the approved maximum size, width, and height. The required aisle widths and separation distances between piles must be maintained at all times.
• Fire Lanes: All designated fire apparatus access roads around and through the piles must be maintained and kept clear.
• Control Vegetation: You must control all weeds, grass, and other vegetation around the storage piles to create a fire break.
• Control Ignition Sources: Prohibit all open flames, smoking, and hot work in the storage area.
• Water Supply: If a private water supply and hydrants are required for your site, you must ensure they are maintained in a fully operational condition.
