105.5.59 (#3) Live Audience Seating Arrangements in Production Facilit

Specific Responsibilities for Audience Seating:

  • Adhere to Approved Seating Plan: You are responsible for installing all chairs, bleachers, and platforms in strict accordance with the approved seating plan. You must not add seats, remove aisles, or alter the layout without prior approval from the Fire Marshal.
  • Maintain Aisle Widths: All aisles and cross-aisles must be continuously maintained to their approved width and be kept completely clear of any obstruction, including camera dollies, cables, and personal belongings, at all times the audience is present.
  • Ensure Seating Stability: You must ensure that all temporary seating is stable and secure. Individual chairs must be ganged together in groups as required by the code. Bleachers and platforms must be structurally sound.
  • Maintain Egress and Exits: Verify that all required exits serving the seating area are unlocked, unobstructed, and clearly identified with proper, illuminated exit signs. Egress paths from the seating area to the exits must be maintained.
  • Handrails and Guardrails: You must maintain all required handrails on aisle stairs and guardrails on elevated seating platforms in a secure and stable condition to prevent falls.
