It was a celebratory week in South San Francisco as residents, City leaders, and community partners gathered for two major milestones focused on investing in neighborhoods and the next generation. City Council and Parks & Recreation Commissioners at the new Dundee Park

On June 3, the City officially celebrated the completion of the newly improved Dundee Park in West Winston Manor. The project transformed the neighborhood park into a refreshed community gathering space with new amenities designed for children, families, and residents of all ages. The improvements were shaped through conversations with the community, reflecting feedback from neighbors who shared their hopes for the future of the park. Residents joined City Councilmembers and staff for a ribbon-cutting celebration right on the playground - highlighting the importance of parks as places where communities connect, play, and grow together.

The project was supported by $850,000 in federal funding and advances priorities identified in the City’s Child Care Master Plan, which recognized the growing need for childcare options west of El Camino Real. Once completed, the center will help expand access to early childhood education for South San Francisco families and support future generations of learners.

Together, both projects represent the City’s continued commitment to building strong neighborhoods, supporting working families, and creating spaces that serve the community for years to come.
