Celebrate the 4th of July with a visit to the historic Grand Avenue Library!
The City of South San Francisco is celebrating the 4th of July with a community parade and picnic along Grand Avenue. The Grand Avenue Library, located at 306 Walnut Avenue next to City Hall, will be open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the day of the celebration and will be offering special activities from noon through 3:00 PM.
Activity highlights are:
Commemorate America’s 250th birthday with a themed photo in our photo booth. Prints are free. You will want to keep these forever!
Read facsimile copies of the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Pick up free copies of the Constitution as well.
Share your perceptions about the meaning of the Statue of Liberty on our interactive display that highlights Emma Lazarus’s poem “The New Colossus.”
Patriotic crafts for all ages! Unwind with coloring, express creativity by painting fireworks, or make red, white, and blue jewelry.
Enjoy the Library’s patio with bubbles, giant games, and more!
Kids and teens can pick up a Summer Learning Challenge reading log and a free book. Participate all summer long and win additional books and prizes along the way.
